Research: 'What makes a good title sequence?' as answered by Kyle Cooper

Kyle Cooper explains that a good title sequence possesses three qualities: Firstly, that it introduces the setting, time frame (or period), and places the viewer in the right moment for the film or in his words 'Goes into the Film proper'.

Secondly is that it immerse the viewer in the moment, which could be said to be interchangeable with the phrase 'draws the viewer'. Essentially what Cooper is describing is how a good title sequence makes the viewer forget about the world around them and any thoughts that may distract them and is fixated on the film, therefore immersing them.

Lastly, Cooper states that a good title sequence set's an 'expectation' for the rest of the film.
