Research: Blog Post 3: What is the purpose of a title sequence and film opening?

Title sequences are shown at the start of a film (sometimes at the end as well) and are art forms in their own right. They are important aspects of films as they are essential to producers to show the films title, company credits, the actors and staff. title sequences also have to grab the viewers attention, so then they continue to watch the film. The purpose of a film opening is to let the audience see the genre of the film, introduce the main characters and settings and set up a narrative to resolve. Also they are used to draw us in, so that we are excited and interested in continuing to watch the film.
