Research: Types Of Title Sequence

1. Narrative

A narrative title sequence is characterised by telling a miniature story or a short story that contains relevant features relevant to the remainder of the film. An example of this is the opening sequence to 'The Shining' by Stanley Kubrick

2. Discrete

This type of title sequence serves to be integrated into the introduction of the film; titles aren't heavily stylized and usually do not distract from the actual scene. Typically, it is used to allow the audience to create their own predictions on what may come of the story and characters.

3. Heavily Stylized

Using iconography and a similar palette to the film, this type of sequence is used to capture the attention of the audience and also excite. This type of sequence is normally used in action and fantasy films such as the Avengers.

4. Credits Over Screen

Perhaps the most used type of title sequence, this can be identified through it's name-sake: it simply is just credits over the scene.
